It was Father’s Day, and we were making our way back from shopping in the Centurion area. I had driven past the Grondpad Brauhouse a few times over the last couple of weeks, and I thought, “Why not? Let’s go and check them out.”

Mind you, they are located right next to the Padstal, which I have yet to visit. I wonder how business is with the Padstal across from the road.
Back to the story. My father and I decided we would pop in and get a cold one. To our surprise, the first one was free because it was Father’s Day. That was a win in my book. We decided to stay for a second one.
The Brauhouse’s overall look and feel are those of a barnyard shed—a big one with enough space to fit a fair number of people. It’s wood all over, which I like.
There is a stage for a small band to gig and entertain the crowd, and I noticed a fireplace, which is a good addition, considering our current winter.
We did not have anything to eat, but I did see that they offered food specials. These specials include Boerie Bites, Fried Onions, Burgers, Pizzas, T-Bones, and Eisbein.
These specials cost around R99 and vary from day to day during the week. Depending on what you like to drink, a cold one costs about R35.
The atmosphere seems very laid-back, and it looks like the party can get wild the later in the evening. I remember the barman on the day being a rather friendly chap, and his service was good.
Overall, my experience with the Grondpad Brauhouse was good, and I think I will pay them another visit from now on. I might try one of those specials.
That’s it from me on the Grondpad Brauhouse Restaurant Review.
